Religious Education in Copenhagen primary School is an exciting and relevant activity for our children to share in.
We believe that religious education makes an important contribution to the education of our pupils. We aim to help our children develop their own values, belief and morals by learning from and about the religions of others in our diverse society.
We regard RE as an essential part of the curriculum where the children’s understanding of the values come alive in the classroom and help with the progression of each child’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. We are aiming to help children develop respect and sensitivity for all people and to understand more of the importance of religion in today’s world.
Each year group has a working RE file that contains a new scheme of work called ‘Discovery RE’. The folders have guidelines of the areas to teach and how to asses RE. A progress development of skills has been ensured and RE teaching is regularly monitored to ensure the quality of delivery is maintained. All teachers are developing the a consistent, high quality and creative RE teaching that has been differentiated based upon pupils needs.
